Silas Hamilton grew up in rural Vermont. Coming from a musical family he was seeped in Old-time and New England music through parties and contra dances. He has since expanded his musical sights to traditional Irish music and songwriting. Silas plays with a driving yet intricate rhythm, combining the tenderness of an open tuning with a chunk of old-time thrown in.
Willy Clemetson is best known for his band Spintuition, which has toured the length and breadth of New England and through Ottawa and Montréal to play contra dances and concerts. He grew up playing fiddle and singing (though only recently at the same time) in the town of Belfast, ME. He was fortunate to be surrounded by traditional music and dance at an early age in one of the hidden stashes of incredible folk musicians in Maine. In addition to music, he works as a skilled freelance landscaper and gardener in Belfast, and is an enthusiastic Ultimate Frisbee player, fantasy reader, and dancer. If, by happenstance, he isn’t galavanting in another part of the world with his fiddle you might find him in Belfast at the Flying Shoes Dance or on a sunny street corner busking.
