Alec Ellsworth, fiddler and accordionist, grew up in the dance halls of New England, where he fell in love with traditional music. While biking around the US with a fiddle on his back, he fell in love with Cajun music and the culture of food, dance and community that is embedded in the tradition. Over the summer of 2012 he received a grant to study traditional American fiddle styles, and he spent the summer learning from some of our great cultural proprietors in Louisiana and beyond. He loves to play for dancers of all kinds, and also teaches Cajun dance. He plays fiddle and accordion with the Green Mountain Playboys.
