Alexis Chartrand is a Montreal-born fiddler born in 1995. He began studying classical violin at the age of 7 with Diane Plouffe-Plant (Ensemble Claude-Gervaise). Meanwhile, he learned Quebec traditional fiddling by himself, inspired by the culture of his family and his group. While studying in the classical music program at École Joseph-François-Perrault, he participated in many cultural events with his parents Anne-Marie Gardette and Pierre Chartrand, playing music and baroque repertoire of traditional Québec, in Prince Edward Island, the United States and France. Alexis studies music at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent in Montreal.
