The 22nd annual New World Festival was a burst of colorful music and merriment Sunday from noon to eleven.

What a day it was! Thanks to all who contributed to another fantastic festival. We’ve got a great store of memories to carry us through the winter ahead—Chandler filled to overflowing with an enthusiastic crowd gathered to hear Liz Carroll and Jake Charron accompanying dancing by Nic Gareiss that knocked our socks off; Ten Strings and a Goat Skin bringing audiences to their feet in appreciation for their incredible musicianship; the exuberant music of De Temps Antan; beautiful vocal harmonies from Liz Simmons and Hannah Sanders, Matt & Shannon Heaton, and Keith Murphy & Becky Tracy; amazing yak burgers and flavorful curry; an incredible array of pies; closing down the dance tent with Prydein; and an array of young musicians whose dedication and talent ensures the future of traditional music in the region.

Mark your calendars for next year’s Festival on Sunday September 6. Music Director Kevin Dunwoody has some great ideas cooking!
